The Ladybugs enjoyed our science experiments

Parents were in last week to help us with some fun science experiments. Lots of inquiry was happening. Will the pumpkin sink or float? What will happen when the vinegar is added to the baking soda? Why? How will we make the slime? The skittles are making a rainbow!! The colours are joining together...red and yellow is making orange!!
Thank you parents for your patience and for promoting more inquiry.

Practicing zippers

Please help encourage your child to independently zip zippers and provide time to independently practice putting on boots, coats, scarves, mitts and hats.  Winter is closely near and this would only benefit their dressing and undressing skills in a timely manner to enjoy the activities to follow.  Many children have difficulties with gloves and the spreadi of the fingers so please work with your child on putting on and taking off.  If possible, please  keep a spare pair of mittens in their backpack as it may take awhile for mitts to dry throughout the day.  We do not want to see our children feel cold.

Halloween crafts

With our gift cards that were given to the Clownfish Class , I would like to announce that the children are very delighted to see some of the wonderful crafts purchased by some of the funds given.  Thank you to all the families who helped contribute supplies needed in the classroom.

Many Thanks to our parents!

The clownfish class would like to say many thanks for your generous donations for our Shepherds Of Good Hope.  The children have been extremely eager to bring food items in and take part in helping our community.  Many learning curves have been seen from graphing to counting and  of course leaving our mark on the gigantic thermometer.  Please continue to help this great cause.

Brrrrrr, it's cold outside

Today was the first day we felt the chilly weather while playing outside.  Since we will continue to go outside daily to get some much needed fresh air and gross motor play, we kindly ask you dress your child with a warmer jacket and send a hat and mittens for these cold days.  They have so much more fun if they are cozy warm! Please label everything possible. Thank you so much!

Halloween News

Holy Family will be celebrating Halloween at school on Monday, October 31st.  There is no obligation but your child is certainly welcome to wear orange and black or a Halloween costume that day.  For their own safety, we kindly ask that the students not wear masks or bring any hand held props that would be considered a weapon such as swords and knives. It might be a good idea to have them wear the costume over their clothes so they are free to change when they get tired.
Since one of our students has just recently been diagnosed  with a peanut allergy, we would ask that you do not send in any candy or treats please.  We have a feeling they will get enough that evening!!!
Thank you for your understanding.

Creating fossils

The Ladybugs were creating fossils of all kinds.  Ask them.... What is a fossil?  How is a fossil created? What can you see in a fossil?

Ladybugs did some baking today.....yum!

The Ladybugs had fun measuring, stirring and sprinkling as they made apple crisp this morning with Mrs. Deek.  The school smelled delicious as it was baking. Everyone had a taste of the delicious treat!  Please ask your child about it!
