We will be sending the blankets home on Friday  for a washing. We will also send home summer outfits from their change of clothing bag.  Please replace these items with colder weather wear and return to school on Monday with their blanket.

Thank you!

Tomorrow, the students will be walking around our track in support of the Terry Fox Foundation.  Please ensure your child has comfortable outdoor shoes for walking.

Thank you for the toonies that have already come in.  You can still send in your toonie tomorrow!

Please ask your child about the event when they get home.  Thank you and enjoy your weekend!

The ladybugs did some apple tasting today.

Our graph shows that red apples were the most popular but they really enjoyed tasting all three .
Feel free to send in apples for your child's snack. We have a slicer and they always taste better sliced!! Ask them about it!j

From the Panetta/Deek Classroom...

A friendly reminder to send in your designated Alphabet Letter soon.  The ones that were already sent in are so creative and look amazing on the wall.  Thank you!

We have several family photos but still missing a few. We really want every child to be part of our Family Tree.

Coming soon....

We can't wait to post photos of our classroom happenings. There seems to be a glitch right now but we will rectify ASAP!

We will also post photos of  items that the students are not recognizing.....Tupperware, grey sweater.

Missing: one of our students is missing a precious cream colour sweater; if your child accidentally brought it home, please return thank you.

Thank you so much for your support!

A very warm Welcome to our new students as well as our returning families! We look forward to another fun filled school year. It was a very hot first week but we got through it triumphantly......well perhaps with a few tears!

We have 3 Kindergarten classes this year:

Miss Dirienzo is in Room 7 with a class capped at 15 with no ECE (Early Childhood Educator);

Mme Finlay is in Room 8 with Early Childhood Educator,
Miss Lavoie;

Mrs. Panetta is in Room 9 with Early Childhood Educator,
Mrs Deek.

We welcome Miss Dirienzo and Mrs.Deek to our school! We are very happy to have them join our Kinder Team!

Meet the Educator Night

We encourage all parents to come out on Tuesday evening, September 27th  to meet the teachers and have the opportunity to join your own childs' teacher(s) for a short information session. This is an adult only evening please.

Since we have 3 Kindergarten classes this year we have decided to give each class a fun name for quicker identification and response!!

Miss Dirienzo's students are the STARS

Mme Finlay and Miss Lavoie's  students are the CLOWN FISH

Mrs. Panetta and Mrs. Deek's students are the LADY BUGS

A few reminders and requests......

  • We know the weather is changing but for now the school is quite warm, Please send your child in layers so they are not too warm.

  • Please write your child's name on everything possible (clothing, shoes, rubber boots, winter boots, lunch kits, water bottles, plastic containers, blankets, etc.  You would be amazed at the duplicates!!!!

  • If you haven't sent a change of clothing in a labelled ziplock yet, please do so before we actually need them. To save us time from writing notes, if a set of clothing comes home soiled, please replenish the next day.
  • Your child will require a set of headphones for the ipad use. Remember we did keep a few sets from our last year Junior Kindergarten students.

  • If you havent sent in a box of kleenex, box of ziplock bags and 2 containers of playdough,we would certainly appreciate the contribution. Several of you have already sent them in.....thank you so very much!

  • In addition to the above, we would kindly request a small gift card, $5.00 or so, from Dollaramma, Dollar Tree or Walmart for example. This would be for our year long purchases toward special and seasonal craft items, sensory bin materials, developing photos and so much more. We certainly appreciate your generosity.
Thank you so much!!!!!

Birthdays

We always highlight every student's birthday with a crown, singing and a goodie bag and you really don't have to feel obligated to send in anything. If you are wanting to send a little something, may we suggest perhaps a pencil or sticker, etc. All three classes have students with sensitivities to a variety of foods and one sibling with a serious peanut allergy. We would kindly ask that you not send in baked goods.  Thank you so much for your understanding on this sensitive matter.
