Mme.Finlay / Ms. Lavoie's Class
A big WELCOME to Mrs. Anstett! We are very excited and privileged to have her in both of our kindergarten classes throughout the day.
Another big welcome to Ms. Oxner who has joined our class for the next 5 weeks. Ms. Oxner is doing an E.C.E placement from Algonquin College.
February & March News Flash
Many inquiries have lead us to many discoveries. Our dental hygienist who visited us in February has aroused questions, what are cavities? How many teeth do we have? What do we do to take care of our teeth?
Our young and proud little Canadians were honoured when Canada took GOLD during our Winter Olympics. We watched the hockey games on our smart boards as interest began we discovered some understandings of Why there is no orange Olympic ring? Why is there five rings? We made medals, torches and even hosted our own day of an Olympic kindergarten event. Pie plate skating, Kleenex box skiing, sliding the furthest and of course we had to have target HOCKEY.

Mme. Finlay / Ms. Lavoie
We will be collecting 250 ml water bottles that are rinsed and dried out for an upcoming activity. If you could please send some in with your child it would be greatly appreciated.
Thank You!
Thank You!

Holy Family school will be raising money for the OK Clean Water Project With your donations of loose change, we can help provide piping needed for clean water.
Mme. Finlay / Ms. Lavoie
A big THANK YOU goes out to all of our parents that are volunteering time in the classrooms. The children are very proud to show what they are learning!
With great sadness, Our class IPAD that captures all our amazing discoveries had quite the tumble a few months ago. The result ended with damaged screen and has taken a little longer then expected. We apologize for the shortage of our class discoveries on our blog but we're very optimistic that it will be returned shortly.
Many Inquiries have sparked the children's interest since January, that include topics of community helpers, Winter Olympics, the beach and Space to name a few.

It has been a very busy week! On ShroveTuesday, the students were treated to pancakes by the Knights of Columbus. They were gobbled up very quickly! We are very fortunate to have this dedicated group of men supporting our school with these wonderful events. The students are working on a card to say thank you to them.
Today, Ash Wednesday, the students participated in our celebration where they received ashes on their forehead. The ashes are a reminder that it is the beginning of Lent and for the next 40 days, in preparation for Easter, we turn away from sin and think of others. Your child has brought home a Lenten Bag that they can complete at home during this season. An attached note explains how to proceed. We look forward to seeing the results!
Reminder: Friday, March 7th is a PD day and therefore NO SCHOOL for the students.
Thank you for your continued support,
The Kindergarten Team
